We arrived safely to Japan. When we left Adelaide, many of the host families and students were in tears as they said their good-byes.

In Singapore, we went on the Night Safari. We had a meal there and a bit of free time before boarding the tram to see some of the animals. During our free time we were able to see a fire-breathing show. After see the animals we went back to the airport. There, we had free time for a last shopping spree.

We were happy that we arrived to see the cherry blossoms. We thank everyone who made this trip and study tour possible.?

Today was the final farewell party at ELSA. ?Host families were invited, so those who could get away from work came. After eating, we went over to SAC’s auditorium where our students danced and sang for the parents. They performed most of the same things they did at the school farewells. MMC students sang the MMC school song. At the end all the Capitanio students sang our school song. Everyone said they had lovely voices. They also received a certificate of participation from Margaret Dyer and Grace Murphy, who taught them at the ?Language Center. All had a good time. ?

This morning at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (OLSH), the Capitanio students received certificates for their participation in the international program at this school. They also received an OLSH water bottle, and a neck band with a heart shaped USB containing pictures taken during their three weeks at OLSH. ?After this, two of the girls gave a short speech and then the girls presented a dance for all the year 9 students. They danced to the music, “Maru maru, mori mori”. The OLSH girls liked the music and dancing. They thought it was cute. After the presentation, during first period, the girls had to go to their classes. Tomorrow at lunch time they will have a little party with their buddies. They will have many nice memories of their stay at OLSH. ?

Easter Monday, April 1, 2013

Today, in Australia, it is Easter Monday. There is no school today, so I took some pictures of some of the flowers around the gardens of the Kensington Convent where I’m staying. The building dates back to the 1850s. Mary MacKillop stayed here for some years. ?
