Saturday, we left Ireland. It was raining Saturday, so students had to say goodbye to the host families in a hurry or else get drenched. We arrived this afternoon with the sun shinning down on us. We were thankful for not getting caught in the typhoon and arriving safely to Nagoya. We were all tired from the long trip, but we were thankful for the safe trip and for the wonderful experience we had in Ireland.?

Today we went to see Riverdance. We had been told the show started at 3:30, but it had started at 2:30. Three students arrived at the meeting point early, so they were able to go in. They had missed only the first 15 minutes. The other 6 arrived at three, so they missed a half an hour. But they really enjoyed it. Pictures were not allowed so these are just from the pamphlet. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Riverdance. Tomorrow we fly home. ?

Today was the last day of school for all students. At 2pm there was a farewell party. Mr. Mauro Biondi, the Director of the Emerald Cultural Institute, came to hand out the diplomas of participation. After this, ?awards were given to different students: some funny ones. ?One of our students got an award for trying to always speak in English and for having the best journal. Four other students got an award for having the courage to be the first students to get up and sing an English song on Karaoke night. After the awards there were some games and then refreshments. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon.?

Today, about 40 students returned to their own countries, so there are only about 200 students left. This afternoon our Capitanio girls had a Drama class, taught by Lisa, an actress who has appeared in a few Irish films and on stage. This evening we had an early cinema night, so students bought themselves dinner at Dundrum Shopping Center before seeing the film. We saw, ?”Step Up: All In”, which was about rival dance groups. The students liked it.?

Today, most of the students had lunch outside because it was such a beautiful day! After lunch we went to St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Here we saw many stained glass windows, the reconciliation door, the music for Handel’s ‘Messiah’, and a modern statue of St. Patrick. The students took many pictures of the windows. After the tour they sat out in the gardens behind the cathedral. They had a nice day.?
